Hello again, Sam here!
Firstly about the gifts, so as mentioned in previous blog, I have ordered gifts for parents by taking suggestions from office colleagues, close friends. Libas kurti set for mom and Manyavar Kurta for dad from Myntra, the delivery is scheduled to be arriving next week very much excited, moving on.
So this week has been truly challenging cause it had too many experiences some good some not so good anyways its good to have such weeks were you learn a lot, you will know further.
Till mid week (Wednesday) everything was going well like days felt like they went fast and also nothing much happened. The firm where I work is basically a CA firm where partners are CA's, some are articles and employees( some of them are Ca Final Students). The result date of Ca Final was announced on last Sunday and it was on Friday (15th July).
The firm where I work is close to my house but the client for whom we audit is situated far from house, so some times I need to visit client place for work purposes.
On Thursday morning I got a message from my manager that I need to go to client place for work. So I went there and everything was going well like we had ordered some outside food for lunch from one of our team members restaurant. All the team members that work at client place are very supportive and the atmosphere is great. The work was done and evening I left the client place for home with a team member, we took a rickshaw for going to station from office. As soon as we came near the station, I opened my bag to pay the auto fare and then I didn't found my wallet after continuous searching so I told my other team member to pay the fare. After reaching the station, searched everywhere even called client's place but didn't found my wallet. Wallet had some money and documents like Pan Card, Aadhar Card, Voter Id, Debit Card. I blocked my Debit card instantly as advised by team member and he was so kind that he was offering me cash to keep with myself, he even insisted to keep the cash but I refused by saying if needed I will use online payment and he agreed.
I purposely mentioned this team member story cause most people aren't kind when you are in trouble they just enjoy when you are in trouble. Went home that day and wasn't feeling good cause of the wallet and also in the mid week I had lost touch with one of my friend with whom I used to share everything, everyday. So, I just deactivated my Instagram on that day, cause sometimes you need that space where you introspect and move forward.
Now comes the result day 15th July Friday, I woke up and saw in the WhatsApp group that results had came out and out of 4 colleagues one person had cleared CA Final with good marks and he become CA (which I aspire to be one day :)
I went to office and everyone was happy about results, of the 3 colleagues who didn't clear one colleague hadn't came to office cause she was going out somewhere. I saw the other 2 colleagues that day they were very disappointed cause obviously they didn't clear the exams, they were unhappy but one of them just focused on work and didn't talk much that day. The other colleague was crying as she had just missed by 15 marks and that thing hurts a lot, I mean a lot. Even I have gone thru that phase where you just worked hard but still you don't get results. She cried (as she was getting a lot of calls asking her about the results) but still she kept her calm and one thing about this colleague she is very chill and basically a happy-go lucky person. One thing I learnt from her that day no matter how big your failure is you have to anyways face it and move on.
Also, we had ordered a cake for the colleague who had became CA, we all celebrated his result as we were extremely happy for him.
The day went well and as I had deactivated my Insta so that night I decided to start reading a book.
Shortly describing my learnings from this week :
1)To have expectations from things, yourself and people around is natural, but keep them more realistic.
2) You limit your experiences when you label them as good or bad.
3)Don't let grudges hold your life, it will make your life shallow.
The title Connecting the Dots is inspired from Steve Jobs Stanford Speech (I highly recommend you to watch that on Youtube) where he describes every experience we go thru in life as dots and when you connect them you realize wherever you are in life is due to those dots. And remember you can only connect those dots by looking backward <<
Lastly, One quote which I truly believe in,
"As scars accumulate and so does wisdom in life", see you next week.
Thank you for reading till here <3,
Bye,
Sam
